I bought the game with an open mind. tl;dr it was not worth it. It's an ok game with rehashed gameplay, not enough to make it interesting. And the story has strong flavor but leaves a bad taste. I was hoping whatever story they have could justify what's being leaked. But in the end that's a tall order. They succeed in making a shock value and controversy, and truly bums you out. Maybe that's what the developer intended, but it really is a game that left you feeling down. Bummer game can be fun. For example, "This War of Mine" was a post-apocalyptic game that deals with bitter stuff, it's a survival game with high player agency with multiple endings that rewards the player's choices appropriately. The Last of Us 2 sucks cause it dictates you to your doom. I didn't really want to replay it after I beat the game. But I replayed it just to see if I can approach the game non lethally/full stealth. But it's not possible. The game just want you to do what they want you to do, and then punish you for it. Save your time and money and play This War of Mine instead.
