KGHK is a decent film. That's all. There is nothing new about it. The cast is perfect and Ananya shines throughout. However, the narrative is something like a 500 word critical analysis of modern day relationships/friendships stretched into a film. it's more like a soap opera and might have worked better as a limited series.

Exceptional! How to kill a woman? What ingredients push her to her limits and render her utterly lonely? Family, men, traditions, patriarchy, kitty party feminism, social media trolling etc. A must watch. Radhika Madan and Nimrat Kaur deserve many more films than the below average nepotism products. I want to see more of Bhagyashree too.

To like this movie or at best to love it, one needs critical thinking--something not found in your average US American. Hence, the onslaught of bad reviews. Esmail's characteristic paranoia adds to the messiness of the US. The film is a critique of racism, class division, the catastrophic American foreign policy (oil! gas!) especially in the Middle East, the conspiracy theorists, and America's greatest pass time ever: to create enemies out of the "other." Perhaps American enemies must band together? Think of Gaza at present and watch it within that context. US is harming and killing itself. The snark, the criticism are spot on! And I needed this as the US continues to desecrate the world. Watch it.

The worst part of this film is its attempt for "perfection." I could not stand even 30 minutes of it. Khushi and Suhana CANNOT act. It was torture to watch them speak even a sentence. Everything was off. This is what happens when you don't know your audience. I was disconnected from the film and the characters throughout. I did not care about their cause and simply could not relate. I can see the marvelous effort at creating the set but that's it. The script was weak, the music was meh, and nothing was worth it. Please make films that connect with us on a human level. What is happening to Bollywood, man? Keep it simple and you will have a great film. Focus on interiority and not this Hollywoodesque musical. Bollywood in its prime form is the best--utilize it. Stop pandering to Westernization. If adapting, learn from someone like Vishal Bhardwaj. Awful film. And please, oh please, stop casting nepotism products. Vedanta Raina and Aly Khan are the only saving grace.

A slick, smart anti-Agatha yet Christi-esque film. Well acted, well paced, and of course very British in the best ways possible.

Not that great. Form takes over the plot.

Absolute entertainer! Not a dull moment. I have been wanting to see this film since its trailer came out and I was not disappointed. A complete "paisa vasool" action thriller after a long time. I loved the over-the-top plot but I particularly admired how the film balances vulnerability and assassinesque action prowess. Bob Odenkirk is smashing. Just the film I needed in this never-ending pandemic.

Another gem from the Dardenne brothers. Though I would have loved more context to understand Ahmed's radicalism. Nevertheless knowing Dardenne brother's acumen of following "in media res," the lack of context is not surprising. A bold and extremely relevant film as radical Islam is a global menace and it MUST be addressed openly and via art. The film does not demonize Ahmed--an empathetic approach that the filmmakers take.

As a Sherlock purist, I confess I entertained my shortsightedness into presumptuously thinking that this movie might not be that good. "Why do we need a Sherlock subversion?", I yelled to myself. But this film proves me wrong and oh with what charm! It is a much needed feminist subversion and reimagination of a fictional legend whose fictional death led Londoners protesting with black bands around their arm. Doyle had to bring Sherlock back because of the public outcry. Enola (Millie) shines but without punching Holmes down. In fact, Cavill effortlessly carries the Sherlockian nuances and pretty obviously enjoys this subversive tale. For me, one of the most powerful scenes was between Sherlock and Edith! Of course, watch it! Absolutely watch it! And make everyone around you watch it too!
