I love Neil Sedaka's In The Pocket album. It was made as a record in 1980 and still to this day hasn't been made and released as a CD. In The Pocket is a wonder. The song You Better Leave That Girl Alone on side A is pure n' breezy fun. The second half of the album is gold. Side B is some of Neil's best and creative work. It's Good To Be Alive Again shines with Neil's upbeat singing and with creative effects and neat sounds. The song called You is quite possibly Neil's best song. Feels like it could be featured in a movie. Quite arguably Neil's best singing performance and vocal. Sparkling with sweet melodic lyrics from the heart like "Like a gentle breath of hope in the night. You. Bring my little secret longings to life" and lyrics like "Like a child hanging on with trembling hands. Snuggled in against the cold. I know" makes you feel the magic. Who can forget the popular duet song called Should've Never Let You Go with Dara Sedaka. This marked the second time Neil's beautiful daughter Dara had appeared on a Neil Sedaka album. The first time was when Dara made her historic debut on a Neil record on background vocals from the Should've Never Let Her Go song from All You Need Is The Music album from 1978. Dara was featured on co-lead vocals with Neil on a song Dara wrote too called Losing You from the Now album in 1981. After the Now album Dara sang with Neil on Your Precious Love and Cathy's Clown from the Come See About Me album in 1984. And Dara sang with Neil on the popular Sweet Dreams Of You and The Good Times songs from The Good Times album in 1986. Dara wrote The Good Times album too. And Dara shines in the spotlight like no other female artist before her on Should've Never Let You Go. And Dara continues the magic on In The Pocket singing with Neil on You're So Good For Me too. Dara wrote You're So Good For Me and Should've Never Let You Go too. Dara played a big and special role on Neil's albums from 1978 - 1986. It was a magical time for Neil and Dara writing and recording music together. And In The Pocket makes you feel the magic!
