Anyone who says this film accurately represents Ireland has clearly never been to Ireland, or at least not in the past 70 years. Its honestly offensive to Ireland to suggest we are this backward, un-evolved and ignorant of the rest of the world 🙄 The idea that someone wouldnt know what a Rolls Royce is just absurd. I can also GUARANTEE that every farmer in Ireland knows how many acres they own 😂
The clothes (why is everyone dressed in 1940s garb?), the language used to describe Ireland in the film, the diddly-eye leprechaunisms, the honestly shocking accents of all the very much not irish actors make it unbearable for any ACTUAL Irish person to watch (but I can see how it appeals to americans who claim Irish heritage, but have never actually been to the place).
So to anyone watching, enjoy it but know it is NOTHING like Ireland of the 21st century and that there is a reason basically no irish actors would be involved in it...! 😑
