*Spoilers* Disappointing Maybe it’s just my age (elder millenial) but I found the new characters annoying and unlikeable. The obvious man hating feminist trope is grating. I blame the female director. For those old enough to be fans of the original 2 movies there are some nice little Easter eggs in there, but that’s where the redeeming qualities end. No suspense really and no genuine jump scares. You simply don’t care enough at all about the characters to be upset when they’re slaughtered. And don’t get me started on deciding to make Ray a killer. What on earth!?!? That’s like making Dewie ghost face in Scream. It just doesn’t work at all and is a major blemish on the whole franchise. Jennifer love Hewitt is under utilised and SMG’s cameo is very odd indeed. I think I might just forget this film was even made and just rewatch the original 2 films.

Really enjoyed this one. I loved the 70’s aesthetic and enjoyed the interweaving storyline’s between the past and present. If you enjoy a good thriller, with a bit of heart, this one is for you. Goes without saying that you should watch in the original language with subtitles, instead of dubbing.

Shocker of a film. I stuck with it till the end, but really it was a total waste of time. Horrible overacting, gruesome and brutal animal violence, which I found very upsetting

Great! It really ties in well with both the original Halloween and Halloween 2, with flashbacks to the past. Having just watched Halloween 2 this week, it was nice to see some of the connections. I think this is up there in the top few films of the franchise for me. Very brutal kill scenes though, some of the goriest in the entire series.

I’m surprised by all the negative reviews. Yes, the pacing is a little rushed and it relies heavily on familiar horror tropes, borrowed from a selection of classic slashers, but in itself it’s a highly watchable and entertaining slasher. Fans of the genre should give it a go

I love Rachel Weisz, but I couldn’t even make it 10 minutes into this. Really graphic and not good if you’re tokophobic

This was an enjoyable thriller that held my attention throughout. Dennis Quaid was great as the unhinged villain. I don’t really understand all the negative reviews. If you’re a fan of suspenseful thrillers, I would definitely recommend. One of the better offerings currently on Netflix.

On the whole I enjoyed this series. It’s a little slow to start with, but picked up the pace in the last few episodes. Yes, there are many flaws with the plot and the ‘dancing’ scenes were very bizarre, but overall it wasn’t bad.

Do not waste your time. Just awful! I can’t believe this film ever got the tick of approval. As a lifelong Bond fan, I honestly feel cheated. The many, many 1 star reviews are spot on. The only good thing about this film was Ana de Armas, who only had about 5 minutes of screen time, a real waste. The rest of it was just a complete disappointing hot mess!

Wasn’t expecting much from this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised. It actually turned out to be great! I wish I had saved it for actual Halloween night. The right amount of suspenseful and creepy with some good jump scares. Far exceeded my expectations
