Dire! Totally unrealistic characters and not at all funny.

I really, really wanted to like it, but I had to stop watching when the nurse came in. I thought she had arrived to speak Russian to him and show him some care and warmth, instead she tells him a fairy tale ( in English), cries and causes him to break his arm. It just seemed totally implausible, so I gave up, which is a shame because up to this point it really showed promise.

Excellent acting, ridiculous plot- far too many things happened that stretched credibility.

I think people might be missing the point; its not meant to be like 'Vera' or 'Lewis ' (fantastic dramas in their own right). It's meant to be slightly off-kilter and weird. I liked the characters, such as the two police 'sidekicks' who turned out to have hidden depths and talents. I'm intrigued by the police 'boss' who seems more concerned about winning best village than any crimes committed (Is she involved in the strange world that exit beneath the surface?) I enjoyed it and would love to see a second series.- so many questions were left unanswered.

Couldn't get past the first 20 minutes. Who would let their home be taken over by relatives like that and end up weeing in the garden? When it got to the part where the niece had eaten the pizza and she was delighted that her husband had got her a chocolate bar and a bag of crisps, I thought I'd misread the blurb and it was actually a comedy!

Appalling, couldn't get passed the first 10 minutes.

It's well acted but I stopped watching after the second episode because I just didn't CARE about any of the characters! You can't imagine the mother having given birth to and nutured one child , let alone three. The youngest daughter is a drip, the middle daughter is full of herself and unlikeable and Hannah just doesn't seem believable somehow. She has a gorgeous husband and three children, yet she flutters around Christie like a silly teenager.
