Gifted to my 5.5 year old twins, Magic Mail with its postcards and letters addressed to apprentice magicians from a globetrotting Joshua Jay is beautifully conceived and executed. The correspondence includes stories, puzzles and culturally-specific art and experiences. There is a companion world map on which children can track each of items that 'appear' in the mailbox. Parents merely address and covertly insert each piece of mail. In a post-Covid world where travel has grown difficult and restricted, Magic Mail is an imaginative way to introduce children to the world. Mine were enthralled and I, in turn, have bought Magic Mail for my nephews to enjoy.
