Not your average Netflix branded action film. This movie deserves to be seen in theatres. A visceral and violent romp a la John Wick and in this rare case the sequel outclasses the original Extraction. I wasn’t too sure what to expect when starting the film but the action $equence$ and long, long takes immediately got my attention forcing a closer look.A decent story with few plot holes (thanks Russo brother) helped make this very competent action film that I’ll be rewatching a few times. Definitely worth your attention!

A wonderful ensemble dramedy about up and comers hustling to make it in the industry. The locale is in one of the prettiest cities in the world, Paris, and a character in its own right in this show. All the main characters are not without personal flaws and yet we end up caring a lot about them which is a testament to the great writing on this show. The pacing is quite good as well and keeps the viewer engaged and invested. I was hoping for a season 2 but apparently Netflix has reportedly canceled it. Quelle dommage as the diversity in the show was quite refreshing.

The film was a pleasant surprise despite the predictable storyline of a hunted fugitive protected by good samaritans. The acting, story and pacing keeps the viewer engaged throughout. The film also has a triumphant turn of events that has the viewer rooting even more for the protagonist with a hint of comeuppance for the antagonists. It’s a nice payoff for awhile… just watch the film to see what I mean. All in all the film succeeds in every manner. As a character actor Tim Blake Nelson may cast a diminutive shadow but his acting literally carries this film; in Buster Scruggs he provided great comedic relief but in this film his intensity and authenticity shine through. He just gets better with each film he makes. The score, editing and camerawork also make for an enjoyable watch.

Each episode plays out like a feature film. The sets, sumptuous locations and production are top notch. The acting and dialogue were equally competent as well. The series was scored by Mogwai which helped to suitably amplify the tension and uneasy sense of dread I came to expect while watching certain parts of the series. Prime has a winner and I'm looking/praying for a season 2 if there is one. I'm actually blown away by how much planning and work went into this production from the way it turned out; the entire series is THAT good.

Not a fan of RG but everything worked so well together in this film. Acting, dialogue, editing and especially the soundtrack by Broken Social Scene. Fascinating role reversal between the drug dealer and the teacher wrt who's supposed to be likeable and not. The depth of Dre's pain is so quietly palpable and it's an award-worthy performance. Brooklynn has a fascinating blue-collar appeal in this film as well. My favourite film by the directing duo of Boden and Fleck.

Next level filmmaking! Amazing camerawork and acting. I really couldn’t find anything wrong with this film. An excellent storyline as well. Watching this inspires one to make films.
