I thought it was very good. Watched the trailer on youtube first, and the film certainly lived up to its 'promise'. The twist at the end was completely unexpected. There were several references to previous 'alien abduction' films such as 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', 'ET', and 'Signs' that I recognised, but this didn't detract from this film (Dark Encounter)'s own merits. The suspense is maintained throughout the rest of the film, after a slight sag about 10-15 minutes into this movie. The effects are excellent, as is the atmospheric music. The 'alien' when I finally saw it for a few seconds, was awesome. Thumbs up too that almost the entire cast are British and although it appears to have been filmed in the USA, the actual location was in North Yorkshire, UK. Would would happily watch it again.
