Joan Fondell

I found this film very interesting regarding race. How Octavia’s character has her own societal fears and anxiety and how she corrals that in her own biases. And of course it’s hard not to recognize the sociopathic behavior of the don and his white parents protection of him even when they know or suspect wrong doing. Reminded me of Rosellen Brown’s book and film Before and After. There is so much to say but hard to type on my phone. The ending was odd and unsatisfying. But left open lots of questions. One question was related to reference of Dennis. It was mentioned twice and then again at the end and I missed it’s importance.
