This is a wonderful film about Cuba, Castro & life! The focus on ordinary people & families, revisited over decades, is intertwined with unique footage of Castro, interviewed by Jon Alpert - I can honestly say I have never seen such honest & open filming of Castro, revealing the humorous & humble side of him, as well as the better-known oratory & political flavours of his public image.
No punches are pulled, and the predictable but painful loss of the elderly farming brothers is none-the-less an emotional event.
For people who have visited Cuba this is both a delight and a difficult viewing, but the cameraman & director's love of the Cuban people is never in doubt.
A simply stunning film!
