Lots of positive energy coming from this novel. Overall, it is a peculiar story, to say the least, and the problems dealt with were all brought to light in a concise way.
Plotwise, there wasn't anything surprising but the language is simple enough for the plot to pick up the pace from the beginning. Personally, it wouldn't be my first pick of reading choice, but taking the course and going throughout, this book wasn't too bad at all.
In terms of character development, I really don't see much change. Lily's character wasn't always so sour from the beginning just seen from her actions and her approach. However, what I did find unappealing was that June & "T. Ray" did not change at all. June always ended up being that wise mother-like character whilst T. Ray up to the very end did not accept his daughter.
