John Tvs – Google

John Tvs here with a quick review of "Cool World"! In my honest opinion, the film is pretty good, and has a pretty easy-to-follow story to go with it. Some of the characters (like Nails The Spider, Vincent Van Wrinkle, and Holli's Goons) are pretty creatively-designed and funny. However, I feel as though the movie focuses too much on giving laughs through the various different random animations throughout the film and the dreaded sex-scene rather than actually providing constructive character development. You never see the Goons again after Holli becomes real, and most of the characters never change throughout the movie. Frank Harris is okay, but Jack Deebs is just some confused guy walking around in a cartoon world who has (*uh...*) with Holli for no good reason. Holli isn't even that well-written, as she's just a rip-off with Jessica Rabbit with MORE revealing clothes. Should you watch this film? For the laughs, yes. But for everything else, I'd say a strong maybe, since this film is PG-13, despite being pretty vulgar for that rating. Also, Holli Would is just there as a selling point of the film, so if you're watching this film, and you're under 18, just skip through the cartoon sex scene. Your eyes will thank you!!

2001: A Space Odyssey is a wonderful film that is a lot of possible things. It can be a trip, a satire, or even a documentary-style film. This movie is about a group of hominids, monkey-type creatures who discover bones. They use the bones for good at first, but then they decide to do wrong after a monolith, a rock made by an unknown, unnamed species of extraterrestrials, gives them the intelligence to do so. They then give this flaw to humanity, more specifically astronauts, who build an AI named "HAL 9000". He knows what the humans are doing, and he's not to happy about it? What happens next? You're going to have to perk up, pay attention, and watch the film to see what happens next. It gets slow in a lot of parts, but if you look past that, you've got a pretty solid sci-fi movie.

Gremlins 2 is a wacky, funny, very clever comedic movie. It made me laugh in a wide variety of ways. The Looney Tunes segment at the beginning was very wacky, but had a great place in the movie due to the classic atmosphere that older viewers might get from watching it. A lot of parts were real funny. The genius Gremlin (seen much later in the film) is a funny depiction of scientists. As a matter of fact, the whole movie is a funny depiction of science, with many Gremlins turning into strange creatures. My favorite is the one that turns into a gargoyle. Even if you haven't watched the first film, it's still very funny and definitely deserves a mention on funny comedy films lists.
