This tale combines the prophet Elijah and current headlines. Our protagonist continues to fast, or at least fails to absorb food, even though he’s living in a time of apparent abundance. Scott is not concerned about his weight, but prophesies to the people about the drought of kindness among them. The people, most of them, remain oblivious. Like Elijah, Scott is taken up.
