Despite Adam Sandler, and the silly ending, this was surprisingly pleasant and enjoyable laid back sci-fi romp.

The concept was awesome, amazing, captivating. But that's all they had. A concept. Not a story, not any sort of satisfying conclusion, the movie presented an idea, puttered on for a while trying to build up to something, introduced an absolute random plot/product at in the third act, and then.... Ends with Nicholas Cage wearing a comically oversized sports coat. Disappointing.

This is awfully simplistic, cringy, and written by someone that has no idea how to write any sort nuanced or emotional story. I love sci-fi, even some cheesier movies or show, but this was just a cringy, pseudo furry slog to get through. I don't know how, but the special effects are somehow... worse than the first one. I don't know what happened to the Cameron that made terminator 2 or aliens, but with this and the new alien movies, he is absolutely not around anymore.

This movie is great. Some of the characters are one note tropes, and the CGI may not be the best, and the music feels out of place, but the characters were endearing, the premise horrifying, and the ending, ouf. Reminds me of Event horizon, where it is super close to being an astounding film, but misses the mark by a bit
