This book is great, but know that it's very, very, very deep. It deals with trauma, extreme violence, extreme loss, war, heartbreak, broken families, bullying, isolation, depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, hopelessness, philosophy, nihilism, questioning of existence, and, of course, death. And much of it revolves around/is told by a child. The story is very touching and the book makes you reflect on life. Just make sure you are mentally prepared to handle the heaviness of the book.
