Completely insensitive on many fronts. You shouldn't mock or try to "push the comedy envelope" with things like widespread death, wildfire damage, BLM, etc. Sure there were a couple of funny bits or quips, but overall it just came off as trying too hard and very pessimistic. It's also already dated - shocker. What we need right now is something more uplifting for a laugh, not this.

Middle of the road, enjoyable film. You can feel it's runtime and there are a couple of very obvious plot holes. That being said, it was indefinitely entertaining, moving and funny at appropriate times. It did not cram an overly 80s-esque aesthetic down anyone's throats in a time where most 80s-set films are almost purely fan service. Strong messages of love, right and wrong, overcoming greed, etc. And imo had a great balance of themes that can be understood by those of different age groups. TLDR: Entertaining, plot holes, charming, good for all ages, and don't pass on the end credits scene!

While the idea was fresh, this movie falls flat. There were comedic moments that hit well, but far more that were either already given away in the trailer or mind-blowingly cheesy (in a bad way). The dialogue in the movie was very poorly written, none of the characters were fleshed out, and the pacing was awkward in a couple of parts. Disappointed, because I expected more from Blumhouse productions following their other recent successes. This was a huge opportunity and personally it did not live up to expectations. Maybe it was covid or some other issue, but the only really entertaining thing about the film would be Vince Vaughn pretending to be a teenage girl. That was great. This would be a great movie for a drunk sleepover night, but do not waste your $16 on a movie ticket!

Definitely a movie made for their fans, as newcomers might not pick up on all the inside jokes. Wacky setup and plotline, but overall some grade A pranks. Don't expect it to look more cinematic than the TV show, but still it was great getting to see it on the big screen. Fun and upbeat - definitely a comedy movie to see on a nonchalant date night.
