My daughter loves this show and has learned a tremendous amount from it! However, Valerie, more so than Duff, seem to be quite biased when it comes to the African American participants. They often give great compliments to the white contestants and give more chances to them, and appear more harsh on the other, non-white kids. One of several episodes we’ve watched together, the AA boy won almost all (at least 6) of the competitions but lost the championship, and his competitor was even surprised at the outcome.
Please, please, please, try to be more conscious of how you treat these young, impressionable kids. My daughter is starting to ask and make comments about the judges decision.
