Coming to America was cute, silly and funny. Was it funnier than the original? Absolutely not....and we really shouldn't have expected that. Remember, Eddie Murphy made a conscious decision to make movies that his children could watch.....he has one that is a toddler So, the type of humor that we got from the first film we weren't going to get it with this one. So, this sequel was more family friendly....while trying to at least make a few nods to the classic moments from the first film.....which, in my opinion were all well done and well timed. Additionally.....he put a lot of black actors and comedians to work and gave the fabulous Ms. Ruth Carter another moment to shine because her costume game is always on point. I enjoyed it and I'm sure I'll be watching it again.
