9/10 here’s why (spoilers) Im a big fan of the first game, played it several times. Playing this did hurt my feelings for the game, like alot. I did get mad and judged the game way too early, but as i progress throughout the game, I realized that it was actually good. The play of emotions really got me, especially knowing that Abby wasn’t bad after all. I think sympathy played a big role in this game, it made me feel very bad trying to kill both characters(ellie & abby). I think it doesn’t deserve the 3.5+ rating, you need to go deep down into the story to understand what the game is. But, there are still some bad parts too, like the chemistry between characters arent that good enough, and we didnt feel sad about joel’s death, i mean, its more shocking than sad. (But then, as the game progresses, you can feel the sadness especially the ending). In addition, i think they couldve done a better way of telling the story like, they could’ve reintroduce joel and ellie again so that we will feel their chemistry again ( i mean we waited for several years). Maybe they could’ve done things in a chronological order, like no flashbacks. But then, i think this type of storytelling did have alot of pros on it and I did like it. This game really is good, and i think people should play the whole game before judging it. Well, last of us part 2 is darker and less forgiving. So ready yourself before playing it..
