There was a lot to like about this film. I loved the plot time shifting, especially since there were diverging flashbacks. Some answered questions about Lucy and Desi’s past as well as surprising magical thinking as Lucy imagines how the tv scenes would look. The problem was a confusing conclusion. There’s a happy ending when Lucy escapes the charges of being a Communist thanks to Desi. What follows is Lucy goes from hugging Desi to Lucy having a showdown with Desi over whether he’s cheated on her. These disparate conflicts don’t ring true as happening at the same time. Surprising twists at the end just made this ending confusing. .

Heard about it. Just watched Episode 1 and it blew me away. I knew nothing about the show except that it had garnered awards, so my husband and I took a chance. I love to watch dramas that will surprise me and this one sure did. The thrill of watching such shows (like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones) is that plot twists have the most impact when the ironies come as a surprise. Since I love literary analysis, these show make me laugh as I applaud their complexity. I have high hopes other episodes of Ozarks will continue to shock and delight me.
