First movie was great. Second movie- a disgrace!!
Spoiler alert!!!
-Character Abhimanyu (Sunny Kaushal) is getting blackmailed by some guy. This blackmailer always comes around at a set day and time to extract money from Abhimanyu, and Abhimanyu always obliges and gives him the money. Given Abhimanyu's past, his nature, and his "mad man" character, it doesn't make sense for him to be obliging with the blackmailer. Provided what his character is like, he should've gotten rid of the blackmailer ages ago.
-Then comes detective Montu Chacha (Jimmy Shergill). Apparently, he is known as the grandmaster aka "the woodpecker". He has a lot of dialogues, making it seem like he knows what he's on about. The audience would also feel like he is going to get to the bottom of this case, pronto. But no. There isn't a single time when this "grandmaster" is a step ahead then the co-conspirators - Rani (Taapsee Pannu) and Rishi (Vikrant Massey). Infact, I can't even say Rani and Rishi are always ahead of him, Montu Chacha just sucks as a detective. The only way he manages to find some info and put 2 and 2 together, is when he watches a CCTV footage. He does the bare minimum expected of a grandmaster!
-And ofcourse, the awkward crocodile take. I'm assuming Agra (where the movie's set) has fresh water however the movie shows salt water crocodiles living under the railway bridge in Agra. I know it's a movie and a made up story. But wouldn't it be nice if script writers took the initiative of researching, and not showing salt water crocs (broader snouts) living in the fresh waters of Agra.
Atleast put in some effort to make the story look real, try selling it a bit better. Now, the movie makes it out like this water is heavily infested with crocodiles. So when Montu Chacha has to locate bodies in this croc infested waters, he gets his team of cops to get these crocs out of the water as there's no specialised well-equipped squad assigned to get the crocs out of the water. The police seem to get one croc out, put it in the van, send it off somewhere, and now they're ready to dive into the water and find the bodies of Rani, Rishi and Abhimanyu.
-Ending scene- Rani jumps off a cliff from a significant height into the water but doesn't break a bone in her body!! Unbeknownst to physics, she makes it out of the water, well and alive.
-Movie was 2 hours and 13 mins long. It took about 45 mins to wrap up the movie. Who takes 45 mins to wrap up a movie?! No effort had been put into script writing, research and story telling. No interest has been taken in the making of this movie.
