It’s a good fun film, that is brought down by it’s runtime; sure, they took a LOT OF CREATIVE LIBERTIES with the stories, but it’s the closest they’ve come to a legit live-action of a RE game. The ‘Alice’ films are fun, but nothing but non-stop action with a dash of lore; this film went into the games took most of the elements, then crammed RE1/2 into an hour and 47 min film; what it fails in, in at least brings back horror and the tone of the franchise; the set are pretty spot on. The mansion scares were my favorite part, felt very claustrophobic and scary for the characters when they get to it. Hopefully, the next film sticks to 1 story and we go from there…it would be nice to see CV, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 adapted, too.. Personally, it should’ve been an HBO show with 10 episodes going back and forth, but this is a good as we’re gonna get and it was a more faithful adaptation than i was thinking it would be. 7.5/10
