This movie is terrible. I love The actress in this movie and I knew what it was about before I watched it. I appreciate movies that she’s light on the issues between the police and black community, because it does exists, but that it not what this was. This was unrealistic in every way. No police officer would have dealt with that woman acting that way no matter what color she was. No police department is going to do what they did. It’s ridiculous. The realist thing in this entire movie is the conversation between the mother and the black officer. Everyday officers have that one traffic stop in the back of their mind that may go bad, and everyday people in the back community drive, scared to death, of that one traffic stop that may go bad. They are both terrified of each other. I hear people in the black community talk about how they are all grouped together and no matter their lifestyle they are all treated the same, but they have the same outlook on the cops. I wish there could be more understanding between the two groups. This young man in the movie did not die as a result of being black at a traffic stop, he died as a result of putting a bumper sticker on his car that would make any officer nervous, then being in a drug deal, then existing the car on a traffic stop with three people against one officer. People of color believe that all officers are bad, and officers think all people of color are a threatening. It’s a stigma that needs to change on both sides.
