In the first hour, the film’s action is focused mainly on computer screens with digital information streaming by. Discussions of numbers and codes and computer malfunctions. It’s as if they decided to make a movie about computer programmers and IT specialists with the intent of making it sexy and exciting. Problem is, it’s super boring watching and listening to discussions about that stuff. I finally just turned it off. I figured AT SOME POINT there would be a spectacular climax with cataclysmic explosions and giant floods, but no manner of special effects pay-off could possibly justify the overwhelming tedium I had just experienced. I had to cut my losses and move on.
