I am a big movie lover. I love Bollywood movies as well as Hollywood movies. My favorites are Korean though. It is my favorite romantic film that managed to make me cry even on the second viewing. The romance between the protagonists, their love, their friendship and their affection is amazingly expressed as well as their emotional pain after one protagonist.
Su-jin is workaholic career women who has recently been jilted by her already-married boyfriend. Chul-soo is a carpenter whose only goal in life is to become an architect. One-night Su-jin goes to the corner shop to buy a Coke but she forgets to take it when she leaves. She returns to the store to find a man holding the can. Snatching the Coke from his hand, she drinks it and walk away. Then she realizes she left her wallet in the store. She is very forgetful. When she enters the corner shop, the salesman returns her wallet and Coke that she bought. She knows then she a mistake. The previous man was Chul-soo and she took his Coke from him so he left the store thirsty and confused. The following day, they meet again at Su-jin’s father’s company where Chul-soo is starting work. Soon they start dating and falling for each other. A relationship forms and finally they get married. They are very happy together. But Su-jin begins to notice that her forgetfulness is becoming more pronounced. It gets to the point where it is starting to affect her daily life. Sometimes she can’t find her way home, forgets to turn the heat off and can’t remember the day’s date. Seeking medical advice, she is put through a series of tests and is finally forced to face the fact that she has a rare form of Alzheimer disease which affects the young. It is eventually quickly going to strip her of her memories. She can’t remember her family, her friends or herself. She is very scared that she will forget her husband. The most emotional scene is when her husband is going to work and she calls him by her ex-boyfriend’s name and says “I love you”. But the husband’s answer is just “Me too”. This part is like a tear-jerking emotional roller coaster. Finally, she can’t remember anything and looses her abilities.
After watching this movie, I understood more about patients who have Alzheimer’s disease and the importance of being healthy. I also learned to be content with what I have. Because of this, I love the movie. I give it 10 out of 10 and recommend this movie to all movie lovers. Of course, it's much better to see it than just to hear about it.
