There's a lot of people in this world who'd like more distance from other people. This movie makes an example of how nobody is truly free. If you aren't free to live off the land, then you aren't free PERIOD. You must accept someone else's civil design to survive, and perhaps some people are just too stubborn to accept what has been designed for people today. At one point of the movie, social service workers explain that school is more than just a place to gain knowledge, but it's also a place to build social skills. In my life, and for many of you reading this review with a shred of honestly left in you, this is drastically inaccurate. Children develope more social PROBLEMS in school than anywhere else in their lives. I'll bet the girl in this situation was much more open to talk about anything than the kids that get bottled up in school. Pushing this idea loses a star for me. However, the director didn't really push it. Actually, it was really brought up as something to debate in this movie. It's just, most people aren't that open to talk truth much. I'll bet a young girl who grew up in the wilderness in a very civil way would tho.
