The Irishman is a masterpiece that reflects the facts, the character and mood of Charles Brandt’s I Heard You Paint Houses. The photography techniques that age and de-age the actors over the decades is remarkable. Each actor in the cast delivers as you would expect. For the critic who panned the use of Anna Paquin, I say read the book. The portrayal of Peggy Sheeran both as a child and as an adult, played by Paquin, mirrors the book and in only one sentence tells us everything you need to know about the father-daughter relationship and how even a hit man can be a broken hearted dad.
