Although the topics discussed are real and important, the book is poorly written and difficult to read. It is exactly what you imagine would come out of a social media challenge, there is a message, but the message is not delivered in an articulate form at all.
I am the book's target audience, a white young person that doesn't think they're racist, therefore I expected the book to resonate with me a lot more than it did.
The writing is incredibly simple, yet somehow very patronising. The concepts are either overexplained or underexplained. I think its worst mistake is telling the reader how they feel. You don't know whether I'm angry, or whether I wanted to stop "the work", so please, stop telling me how I do or am supposed to feel about what I'm reading.
