The wild design of the house looked cool at first, but the CGI used on the statues and the ghost apparition scenes ruins everything. The pacing is weird, I don't care for the protagonist because she's just annoying. Theo deserved better. But also, please don't rent this. Unless maybe you want to watch a horror (?) movie that isn't really scary as much as it is silly to watch. I wish I could get the past 2 hours of my life back.

I checked this book out to try and learn some general information about Bolivia for an upcoming class presentation. As I am skimming through parts of it, I am catching a judgemental tone coming from the author. I don't know how intentional it is on his behalf, but I feel like it is detracting from his writing. It gives the text a weird tone of voice that I do not expect from a book discussing the customs and culture of a country.
