Similar to Let the Right One in. I loved this movie. The girl basically suffered trauma that turned her into a twisted, flesh eating monster, but when she encounters a boy similar to her at the age of her death, things start changing. She recognizes that the boy has been traumatized beyond imagination and while helping him work through it, she regains her soul back, her humanity.
