For me, this is a desert island disc. Every track speaks to me. More rock and jazz on this release then the folk on some of his others. Smoking bass lines from Rob Wasserman. Nice vibe work by Gary Burton on a few tracks, most notably the instrumental Mistress of Storms. Charity of Night (my favorite track) and Birmingham Shadows both use spoken word for much of the lyrics, and are extended tracks clocking in at 8:05 and 9:41 respectively. Get up Jonah also uses this talking approach, though all break into passionate singing at some point. And then there are Bruce's lyrics. He packs so much more into a tune then most anyone - intelligent, thoughtful, provocative. I could go on and on, but you are wasting time not going out and buying this right now. DO IT!!!
