My biggest criticism is how often they break character stigmas. Squidward smiles too much, plankton is too cooperative and compassionate, and this sets the pace of ruining these characters that theyโve spent YEARS building up. Some jokes land but most donโt. This isnโt as bad as the second movie but doesnโt even come close to the original movie.
