Unpopular opinion: I’ve been playing The Sims since 2007 and I absolutely HATE The Sims 4. There are a couple redeeming qualities, but mostly only the level of detail you can put into creating your sims’ faces and bodies. I had a lot of hope for S4 but it feels like they took the worst parts of every predecessor and put it into this over-priced installment. Social interactions and building relationships are more difficult, the ability to customize the color of furniture and sims’ hair/clothing is gone, it’s a closed world but even more-so than S2 where now players can’t even really place lots. Quite frankly, the gameplay is boring and tedious. Sims 4 has very little of the goofy/nostalgic essence that it used to have. I get that it’s a life simulation, but the initial draw of the Sims franchise was how ridiculous it can be. To add insult to injury, I contacted EA less than 24 hours after my download for a refund of which they refused for ALL except the base game. $100 wasted.
