The game isn't awful, but it definitely isn't perfect. Aside from a jump scare or two and a certain boss during your time as Abby there isn't much tension or adrenaline producing game play. The cut scenes however will get your riled up.
Even with the variety of weapons between the two playable characters, the game play can start to feel somewhat repetitive, going from zombie combat -> human combat -> zombie combat. I definitely felt that there should have been more instances where both enemy types were included.
Outside of the odd stray texture, this game is beautiful and sounds great. I also found it very hard to connect with Abby, making about half the game more tedious than it needed to be. Personally I would have preferred to play as Ellie(someone who hates Abby) and Lev(Someone who likes Abby) to create more of a duality for Abby. With the story we got, I think they should have left out the last hour of the game. Ending at the farmhouse would leave room for either a 3rd game or DLC rather than what I felt was a lackluster ending.
