After reading all of the great reviews I feel like I didn’t see the same movie. Maybe this is a “feel good” movie for older kids and adults who can see the bigger picture, but the entire movie is pretty dark. I kept waiting for the “feel good” nice wrap up, but was not left with anything good. The people of the village are extremely violent, unkind, and there is a lot of dark imaging throughout (e.g. a noose, corpses, etc.). I consider myself pretty open to most movies but felt like this one should be a skip for the younger crowd.
