To be honest I wanted to read this book because of the anime Bungou Stray Dogs and I just had to know more about Dazai's character from the anime and I was researching the writer as well. Personally I really enjoyed this book and I felt extremely sorry for the main character but at the same time I felt extreme disgust towards him. I found it very intriguing how the character thought and how he perceived society especially when he devised the game which was finding the antonyms of words I found it really deep and it really left me thinking about humans and society and what the antonym of crime was and what was even considered a crime. At the same time this book was rather depressing to read as the thoughts were really deep and I found it scary how some things were so spot on even though this book is quite old and especially the remarks he said about society and humans, how people's true selves are exposed when they are enraged . This book really makes you think and I think that this a great book for everyone unless you are really sensitive then you should probably not read it sine it contains really sensitive topics such as suicide and drug usage. This book really wanted me to see and talk to the author as it was semi-autobiographical and I'm sure it included a lot of how he thought and i really wanted to meet him face to face. All in all this was a great and easy book to read I would definitely recommend it.
