She Sings to the Stars touches on conflicting aspects of the the Native American heritage have been downplayed and diminished by Western values. The acting is superb and and captures the spirit of the characters to demonstrate faith, resiliency and human frailty. Highly recommended.

Spike Lee portrays the multidimensional aspects of the characters in his movies. Contradictions, affection and stereotypical aspects of the human spirit demonstrated aggressively yet compassionately while showing the inhumanity of racism and bigotry. Love is ultimately the answer for the bloods, but it could not overcome the hatred which ultimately murdered Martin Luther King, JFK and Robert Kennedy.
A rather outstanding production, and how timely the release of this flick.
