This movie started as a heartfelt story between a child and his grandmother, with Octavia Spencer delivering her typical awesome performance. So far, 5/5. Then enter the bald, no-toed, 3-finger, large-nostril witches with Ann Hathaway as their leader, who’s over- acting combined with the introduction of animated mice dropped the film rating down to a 2/5 for me. Actually there were many over-actors in this movie, and I’m surprised the highly talented Guillermo Del Toro even put his name on this. I don’t like talking badly about anyone, but to Ann Hathaway, maybe the theater stage would be more suited for your energy.
