I am agnostic. I decided to watch this movie with certain trepidation, even skepticism. I should have prepared myself with less fire criticism and much more open mindedness Besides the direction and parts played so well by Hopkins and Price the premise was such I was moved to tears and deep emotion, emotion displayed by the revelation of the importance of the leadership and faith of the Pope. Overpowering. Why is Hollywood so determined to record violence and tales of science fiction when they can present films that record all that is good and loving.

A fascinating movie indeed. All the trailers depict a collection of “senior moments” which however playful and somewhat entertaining makes one ask oneself, ‘There must be more to this plot than is being revealed.” Then the real entertainment slowly unfolds. Wonderful screenplay. Mirren and Big Mac portray their characters with such austere brilliance.

I enjoyed this very much. The photographer’s role was almost anecdotal. The love between father and son was beautifully displayed and highlighted just how important life within families is not just important, it’s a way of life humans inherited from their predecessors and should never be forgotten.

An excellent movie played and directed so well by everybody. I was captivated from beginning to end. Irons and Rampling are so underrated. Such a change from SciFi and cops and robbers. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
