This Is one of the best WWII films (and dare I say , the best film in general) I've ever seen in me life, the other two being Dunkirk and FURY. I must say that it surpasses Dunkirk in weight and imminence and is on par with both of the aforementioned films in terms of conveying emotion and distress.
Gary Oldman (Churchill) delivers one of the best performances of the century and immediately I concluded the film ,I said to my brother : "if this dude didn't win the Oscars the following year, I would be pissed"...and I wasn't incorrect. HE WON IT! This is one of such performances were you already know the outright winner even without watching other performances.
Personally, it drew my attention to the important position our leaders face in times of peril ,the importance of leadership and sheer will in such times and the overall patriotism one must have.
I must say I nearly cried when Churchill realized that he must have made a mistake and was ready to surrender to Hitler. His ordeal in the London Underground was touching. His firm voice at the War room cabinet inter alia.
The overall feeling of URGENCY and IMMENSE this movie conveys is simply overwhelming. Joe Wright did a great work as the director and once again it's no surprise Gary Oldman is considered one of the GOATS In British Film industry.
I give it a 10/10( and it's VERRRRRRRY RARE.... , The last film.i gave a 10/10 was IT(2017) and The Dark Knight
Gary Oldman is my new fav
