Sifat Rejioan

This was my first time watching an irani film so I was really excited. As a family drama movie, I think it has beautifully illustrated the middle class life of an irani family. Though the absence of music score was quite noticible; I don't know if it was a deliberate attempt or it has something to do with the religious restrictions of the middle east. The movie is about a family where a mother named Simin is willing to go abroad to secure a better future for their child but her husband Nader is reluctant because he has to look after his father suffering from Alzheimer's. Simin is so desperate that she is ready to have a divorce in order to do so. As they start living separately, Nader is forced to keep a maiden to look after his father and do the household works. One day the Nader comes early and finds that his father laying on the ground and suffering severely but the maiden is not present in the house. This makes him enraged and when the maiden comes home he forcefully gets her out of his house which hurts her physically and makes her have a miscarriage. Now how he manages to get out of all these troubles will be showed throughout the movie. Acting is one of the most mentionable points about this movie which was fabulous. But a few questions came to my mind like why they were not bringing their father with them? Thus their goals will be fulfilled and he will receive better medical treatment. Though the mother of the wife seemed very cordial to her son in law but she doesn't play any important role about their divorce. The wife wanted to secure a better future for her child by getting a divorce which will affect her later anyhow. The ending of the dispute didn't seem reasonable. Overall, its not that I hated the movie, but there were much scope of improvement.

As Billy Wilder is one of my most favourite directors, the hype was already rising when I started watching this movie. He has his own way of illustrating crime, human relation, irregulations of our society in his movies. The movie is about an apartment which is rented by a bachelor working in an insurance company. He reluctantly lets his superiors use his apartment for their unfair deeds in hope for quick promotion. During these events, how he finds the love of his life and learns to refuse others illicit proposals will hold your attention. The movie was well crafted, and i enjoyed a lot while watching.
