I'm afraid the show has lost its appeal for me, a fan since being 4 in 1980, watching the tail end of Tom baker's tenure through to the show's ending in 1989 and then excitedly appreciating the return in 2005.
There were always weak and strong stories, different production values, over-ambitious plots, and underwhelming aspects. Now the series just seems tired and directionless, the world doesn't need another hatchet job from the like of JJ Abrahams (Star Wars), only in this case Chris Chibnall.
So a female Doctor, fine, by all means, and with all favours and hopes extended. The trouble is, as much as I can see Jodie is a very talented actress, she just isn't the Doctor and Chris Chibnall, whilst having the experience of a successful show producer, is simply not right for the show.
Ultimately only other viewers are likely to see comments like this. Those involved in the production develop thick skins and refrain from being buffetted by the opinions of critics. Credit to them for staying true in their beliefs, however, a false belief is still just that, a belief that ends in disappointment and failure.
Sadly I am on the side of thinking that the show may not last if it continues in its current form, and I have to agree that after watching the last 2 seasons (Rosa Parks episode aside), it felt like the Doctor really was saying goodbye at the end of 'Twice upon A Time'.
