This movie really did have a lot of potential and I give it two stars because of it, but not for much else to be honest. There will be spoilers in this review, so proceed with caution.
Iain Glen is superb in his role, as per usual. But from a scientific and plot point? It makes no sense.
The lead astronaut mentions they were in the pod for over 580 days, but Iain Glen's character mentions it would take 10+ (his line in summation: "The women are in their mid-40s and when they get to Earth they'd be in their 50's - far too old to conceive") years for the people of Keppler to reach Earth. Which is it? Cause the math ain't mathin'.
It seemed like the plot was centered around one teensy-tiny thing they wanted to talk about and they dragged it out so long it was no longer worth watching. The two wealthy astronaut minority characters dying off before the first 10-15 minutes of the movie is so overwrought it's laughable. Find a better movie to watch. Y'know - one that makes sense.
