The movie starts with the family being cast out. Why? What law of man has his family broken in the village. The next hour and half is intriguing and has you guessing, but why am I supposed to be scared? Of the not knowing? Of the one witch that consumes and curses? The movie needed at least another 30 minutes to close the story. Or at least a sequel. The writer pulled from Folklore, folktales, journals, diaries, and reports, which is great it just needed more. The ending needed more story to it, too many questions left open at the end. I suppose that is the point in a way, but if was lacking. I don’t believe this horror movie is as intense and heart stopping as some reviews have mentions, but it wasn’t a waste of time either. The cast was absolutely fantastic and excellent acting, that alone made the movie truly enjoyable.
