Overall: worth a look. Central characters are generally interesting, although the Russian detective is a stereotype. Detective Kari solves cases using his intuition (the brawn is provided by two colleagues). It's also no noir. Biggest Problem: The Premise (husband and father wanting to spend more time with his family and protect them so he moves them to the "small" border town where his wife is from). Ridiculous. As each plot unfolds, it becomes apparent that the "small" fictional border town has more crime than the fictional Helsinki Kari lived in for years. Kari's wife and daughter, of course, become involved in some of these crimes. Best just to forget this backstory, because the only reason it's in the show seems to be so that Kari can call on a former colleague from Helsinki whenever he needs special help.
