It was the summer of 2015 when I first got into creepypastas and later that I discovered this show called Channel Zero that would be adapting them into a TV series. Learning of this, I was excited, and so I've been proudly watching since Candle Cove.
By now, there have been four seasons based on creepypastas—internet short horror stories copy-and-pasted all over the web, and akin to campfire scary stories—of which Season One is based on the aforementioned story, Season Two based on No-End House, and then Season Three: Butcher's Block (loosely based on Search and Rescue Woods) and the latest as this posting, Season Four: The Dream Door (based on Hidden Door) ... each getting creepier and more bizarre by the season and episode.
Now, the show's seasons are structured similarly to American Horror Stories, but that's the limit of comparisons I can make, as I've only seen a little bit of an episode with a mental hospital in it.
One may be skeptical of this show because, well, it's based on 'creepypasta'. Turns out, not only are there well-written stories out there of said sort, but this happens to not only adapt the great quality stories, but even better, it expands upon them. Of course, Butcher's Block is a slight exception, but is nonetheless, just the quality one would hope for.
In all ado, this show continues to surprise me, wow me, and creep me out. It's something that I definitely look to Season Five for.
