I have never felt more attached to a series, and that is a hard sentiment to beat. With the movies originally stealing my heart, the novels broke it. The cinematography and compilation of key events from the books credit both Stephanie Meyer and the actors involved. Twilight is a beautiful escape from reality, with teenage romance and unquestionable love, whilst New Moon entirely shatters this built up passion and love into a million pieces. The cacophony of sadness and heartbreak coincide nicely with a reunion of love, later whereby Edward proves his infatuation with Bella, resorting to suicide to heal him from his own heartbreak. Although these two texts neatly coincide, the real development comes in eclipse and breaking dawn, the journey from youth to adulthood. A gorgeous and whimsical series that cannot be topped
