I like the script and characters. The sister act is right on. Jewish mother, dad, the whole cast—great! Hope there’s another season.

An understated lead performance and great supporting cast helped push this film into five-star range, IMO. “Did she do it or did she not?” is never 100% resolved, but I believed there was a definitive answer. The son’s character intrigued me—very smart kid, one step ahead of adults (or was he?!). It was interesting to see the workings of a French court. The skinhead prosecutor was a bit much, but maybe that kind of performance is allowed in a courtroom France. I liked very much that I did not know how the film was going to end. Some plots are so predictable; this one was not.

Not sure I have what it takes to watch the rest of this movie.

Atmospheric, brooding, cold, brutal, with glimpses of contrast—innocence, light, wheat shafts waving in the light. Stellar acting, if occasionally annoyingly understated (director’s choice to underplay for TV screen?). Outstanding, nightmare inducing witches. It’s not your Kenneth Branagh’s Shakespeare, but it’s pretty amazing overall.
