It is an engaging hybrid of the current Canadian show SIREN and the 2012 Australian series THE STRAITS. It walks the line between film noir and fantasy. The noir aspect is a criminal power struggle soap opera. The fantasy element is a colony of merfolk akin to AQUAMAN's two-legged Atlanteans with the ruthlessness of SIREN's finned mermaids.
And the heroine has feet in both places.
